SITTING AT A DESK CAN INCREASE DEATH RISK BY 50 PERCENT

Today I was searching a topic for you guys, and look what I got for you….

Yeah, you have already seen the heading of this post……

So I will come straight to the agenda….

Now when I first look at this topic, I was quite horrendous …

I was like WHAT THE HELL??

But then I thought that this thing should be spread to as many people as possible ….especially those employees, who have a job to sit and type for 12 hours.

I want them to know about the severe consequences that can happen when they work for their family but risk their own life.

Office workers beware, as research from the University of Sydney found that office workers who sit for longer than 10 hours a day at their desk had a 48 percent increase in the risk of death, in comparison to people who sat for less than four hours a day.

There are some more common risks related to sitting for more time:-

1.) OBESITY

It is the most common health problem that an individual can face while sitting. If you eat too much but don’t do any exercise and just sit on your desk all the time.

You will ultimately face obesity.

2.) HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

When you sit, blood flows slower and muscles burn less fat, which makes it easier for fatty acids to clog your heart.

Research published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, for instance, showed that women who sit for 10 or more hours a day may have a significantly greater risk of developing heart disease than those who sit for five hours or less.

3.) ABNORMAL CHOLESTEROL LEVEL

So, these are some common problems that can occur while sitting for more hours.

One study compared adults who spent less than two hours a day in front of the TV or other screen-based entertainment with those who logged more than four hours a day of recreational screen time. Those with greater screen time had:

A nearly 50 percent increased risk of death from any cause.

About a 125 percent increased the risk of events associated with cardiovascular diseases, such as chest pain or heart attack.

So, guys, I think health should be the main priority of people than anything else as

“HEALTH IS WEALTH”

Everybody knows this phrase but nobody follows it as they should.

There should be a solution to every problem that exists….So I will give you some suggestions as solutions and I will be really pleased if you people follow it.

The solution seems to be less sitting and more moving overall. You might start by simply standing rather than sitting whenever you have the chance or think about ways to walk while you work. For example:

  • Stand while talking on the phone or eating lunch.
  • If you work at a desk for long periods of time, try a standing desk or improvise with a high table or counter.
  • Walk laps with your colleagues rather than gathering in a conference room for meetings.
  • Try stairs rather than lift.

You …..YES, YOU, Office workers, I am talking to you ……If you follow the suggestions that I gave right now ….I would be really thankful.

So, health should be the main priority than anything else.
